The Rotary Club of Hot Springs Village and the Rotary Club of North Garland County/Scenic 7 are working with the Hot Springs Village POA to share information about our supply of fresh water in the Village. Our water treatment plant can handle the current load. However, as our community grows, we may reach a point when the POA will have to expand the water treatment plant, accompanied by increased costs to residents.
Under Arkansas Health Department requirements, when consumption exceeds 4.8 million gallons per day, 80% of HSV water plant capacity, a design for an expanded water treatment plant must begin. When consumption exceeds 5.2 million gallons per day, 90% of HSV water plant capacity, construction of expanded water treatment plant must begin before any new connections to the water system are made.
We can delay the need for a large expense to expand our water treatment plant by being careful in our use of water now. This brochure shows how we can keep our water bills low and avoid overuse by:
1) knowing common factors in water loss and consumption
2) prioritizing leak detection and
3) understanding HSV water invoices including cost of water usage.
Let’s all help to enjoy our Village water supply at low cost!
